Asia House Festival of Asian Literature: 7th - 22nd May 2013
Chef Atul Kochhar  will be talking about curries of the world as part of the Asia House Festival of Asian Literature on  11th May 2013Now in its seventh year, the Asia House Festival of Asian Literature - the only UK festival dedicated to pan-Asian writings, cultures, authors and peoples - will take place at Asia House and other cultural venues around the capital from 7th - 22nd May 2013. . This year the Festival widens its remit to include more than 15 countries and Benares chef Atul Kochhar (pictured left) will be talking about curries of the world at Asia House as part of the Festival on 11th May 2013. read more read more

Prajwal ParajulyYoung author, Prajwal Parajuly, has been selected as the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies (OCHS) first Writer-in-Residence. While at the OCHS he will be completing work on his first novel, Land Where I Flee, due for publication this year. Prajwal will also be blogging on life at the OCHS. At 28, Prajwal’s first book 'The Gurkha’s Daughter', was a collection of short stories set in Nepal. read more read more

Narcopolis by Jeet Thayil Jeet Thayil became the first Indian author to win the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature 2013 on 25th January 2013. The US $50,000 DSC Prize along with a trophy was given away by celebrated actor Sharmila Tagore at a ceremony held during the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival.
