Hindu Sacred Green Kumbh Yatra celebrates biodiversity
Green Kumbh YatraHundreds of Hindus carrying ornate pots known as ‘kumbhs’ will parade through London, Manchester, Leicester and Dudley from 11th - 25th May 2013 as part of a pilgrimage symbolising their commitment to protecting the environment.  Sikhs celebrate Nagar Kirtan in Sandwell
Nagar KirtanSikhs took to the streets of Sandwell in their tens of thousands to celebrate the 540th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the Sikh religion on Sunday 15th November 2009. The seven Gurdwaras of Sandwell came together to organise a procession (called a Nagar Kirtan) which started from the Guru Har Rai Gurdwara, West Bromwich and finished at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick. read more read more
 1000 Diwali lanterns released into the night sky in bid for world peace
LanternAfter what was a spectacular Diwali firework display on Sunday 18th October at Bhaktivedanta Manor near London, numerous community leaders and festival revelers released 1000 lanterns into the sky in a bid for world peace. 15,000 people attended the Diwali celebrations at the Temple.
