Also
in Toronto, UK sales companies will be selling over 100 British
films to international buyers. The UK Export Office, supported by
the UK Film Council and UK Trade and Investment, will be supporting
UK companies in generating business with international markets.
45 UK companies are registered with the UK Export Office and several
of them will use it as their base from 9 15 September, including
Bankside, Celsius, Ealing Studios International, Exclusive Film
Distribution, Parkland Pictures, SC Films and the Stealth Media
Group.
The
UK Film Council's International Festival Fund Sales Support Scheme
is also supporting six of the selected British films in Toronto,
helping the sales company to exploit the promotional opportunities
Toronto offers for international distribution. All of the six films
receiving this support were made by emerging filmmakers and they
are: Africa United, The First Grader, I Am Slave, Submarine, Tracker,
and West is West.
