International Film Festival 2013 |

Nair's powerful new film 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'
starring Riz Ahmed, Liev Schreiber, Kate Hudson,
Kiefer Sutherland and Om Puri will preview
at the Bradford International Film Festival
on 21st April 2013 prior to its UK and Ireland
on 10 May 2013. Based on Mohsin Hamid's best-selling
and critically acclaimed novel, the film had
its World Premiere at the Venice Film Festival,
also winning the inaugural Centenary Prize
and a Silver Peacock at the Film Festival
of India.

a delicious new food comedy for 2013 |
 Writer
and director Amit Gupta releases his new film
'Jadoo' in 2013. Jadoo tells the story of
two brothers, Raja and Jagi, both wonderful
chefs, who fall out so catastrophically they
tear the fabled family recipe book in half
- one brother gets the starters and the other
gets the main courses. Setting up rival restaurants
on opposite sides of the road, they spend
the next ten years trying to outdo each other.

is a film that explores contemporary British
Asian relationships. It marks the final production
in the trilogy of independent films by Colour
Pictures that have a focus of inter-faith
relationships in the British Asian community.
The film stars Jaz Deol (Snookered, Tamasha)
and Sadia Ghaffar (Gifted) in leading roles
with Armaan Kirmani as Director.

'Life of Pi' is released in 3D on 20th December
2012. Directed by Academy Award-winner Ang
Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon), 'Life of Pi' is based upon
Yann Martel’s beloved book. It stars
newcomer Suraj Sharma as Pi, Gerard Depardieu,
Rafe Spall, Irrfan Khan and Tabu.

in Mumbai |
 Ascension
Media Group LLP, the creative industries and
digital ventures firm, has announced that
it is opening an office in Mumbai, India,
to be headed by Parminder Vir OBE (pictured
left). According to the Global Media and
Entertainment Outlook by Price Waterhouse
Coopers in July 2011, the Indian Media and
Entertainment Industry is forecast to reach
$31.7 billion by 2015, growing at 13% per
annum from 2011-2015.

wins first Oscar for documentary film 'Saving
Face' |
 ‘Saving
Face’, a documentary featuring British/Pakistani
plastic surgeon Mohammad Jawad was awarded
the Oscar 2012 for Documentary Short Subject.
Directed by Daniel Junge and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy,
the documentary chronicles the work of Mohammad
Jawad as he travels to Pakistan to treat survivors
of radically disfiguring acid attacks.

pensioners who decide to spend their "golden
